Week 1 Term

This week we have life ed here, but i dont know what time we have it. This term I want to increase my confidence in writing by believing in myself and trying my best. I am looking forward to the interclass competitions as well. I am also hoping i get selected for a belmont team which we compete against belmont. So overall i am really looking forward to this term.

Week 8 Term 2

This week we had mufti day and on he same day we had tech arts where it was our final practice. I now know how long the muffins take as they have been consistent. On Friday we had our cafe and it went well for everyone. In maths I learn't how to work out compound interest and simple interest. I learn't that compound means add on at the end of each equation. We also had inter-class dodge ball where we beat rm 1. For inquiry I am doing survivor stories learning about their stories and how they survived the Holocaust. I now know and fully understand how to layout the paragraphs in an argument.  Next week I have WIMS Basketball which nine of us from the 12 people in the AIMS team are going to. I am also in the AIMS Basketball team and I hope when I go I can improve my game even more as last year it helped me a lot. This year I believe we can do really well and get in the top ten. AT the moment I am working on keeping my summary for my book review short and trying to elaborate the other sides like setting a character analysis. I am looking forward to next week as it is the second to last week left.

Week 3 Term 2

This week we played volleyball against room 16 we won easily 22-56. Next week I have WIMS Football on Tuesday which is going to be fun. We have a better team than last year so I think we will do better this year. We started food for tech arts now and on Tuesday we made cheese on toast and on Friday I made a pizza with bacon and pineapple. In maths I now know how to backtrack in algebra and in writing I am revising how to layout a poem.

Week 1 Term 2

This week we went straight into work being given 2 tasks to complete one by the end of the week. We also had volleyball this week and we won by a big margin versus room 7. I am looking forward to the inter-class events as at the moment we have volleyball and dodge ball on and if their is enough time at the end of the term we will be having inter-class football. I maths I revised some algebra and in writing I revised how to layout a letter correctly and also write one. My goal for reading this term is to continue reading challenging books and read for about 20 minutes everyday. In writing it is to do some in my own time if I feel like I need to catch up or if I do not think I will get it done in time within school time. Also I am trying to use more advanced vocabulary so it make my writing for specific but not just putting words in there that just sound good and don't actually make sense. My general goal is still to believe in my self and just continue to get work handed in on time. This term I want to make it into W.I.M.S Football and W.I.M.S Basketball because they are my favourite sports and I am good at them both.

Term 1 Review

This Term has been alright, I made it into WIMS Volleyball which was fun and the year 7's have been pretty fun as well. Camp was enjoyable although I do miss some of the year 8's. I think I have been doing some pretty good work although we have  been on the same maths topic for the whole term so I do not know how we are going to get through all of the maths before the end of the year. Tech Arts has been fun especially making sweatshirts in fabric. We did pretty well in inter class events as we got second in padded tennis and at the moment we are in the quarter finals for softball. I think I have achieved nearly all of my goals for term 1 so I am pretty happy with that. I have handed all of my work in time and I am pretty happy with the quality of it and I feel a bit more settled know that I have got to know a few of the year 7's. I am looking forward to next term with all of the opportunities like WIMS Football.

Wellington

On the first day we we went to Zealandia, the Holocaust Center and Weta workshop. At Zealandia I learnt a lot about birds, like how to recognize different species by sight and sound. At the holocaust center I also learnt quite a bit about the Holocaust and we also got to ask some questions to a survivor. Finally we had Weta workshop which is where they design props and costumes for movies such as Avatar. The next day we went to the Space Place were I learnt a lot about the different planets. After that we went on the cable car which had some pretty good views. After that we walked to Parliament where we met Andrew little - the leader of Labour party. After that we went inside and we had a tour. The next day we went to Ontv which first my group did a news report called ' once upon a crime' I was a reporter. It was really fun becaue we all dressed up in silly costumes and it was just fun. After that we went downstairs to create our own virtual reality world. When you got the hang of it it was quite easy going through all of the procedures just at first it was a bit challenging. After we finished our 6 hours at Ontv we went to Te Papa to the Buglab where it was obviously about bugs but we mostly learn't about Mosquitoes. After that we went to h20 extreme a water park which was really fun. The last day we went to Wellington Zoo, as soon as the Otters saw us they came running up to the glass then they started to show off, after that we went to a marine reserve where we did snorkeling in freezing cold water. Early the next day we left the camp to come home.

Week 7 Term 1

This week I had WIMS Volleyball which was held at the eventscentre in Te Awamutu. There was 16 teams overall 8 girls and 8 boys teams. In the boys team there was 8 players and and we did quite well. In our first game we bet the team that ended up winning, in our second game we lost bye 2 points. In the next game we won bye 20 points so after we were 10 points up we started to just build up our confidence and try new things. Un fortunately because we did not get another 5 points on them because of point difference we did not go into the semis. in our next game we played Tokoroa and smashed them as well so we ended up in 5th. On Friday I finished my sweatshirt and I learnt how to sew a hem and I also learnt how to ladder stitch as I hand sewed a tennis ball. On Wednesday I learnt standard form although I am not confident at it yet. I have also learnt a lot about the holocaust as we have been reading about it because we are going to do a explanation about after we go on camp. On camp we are going to the Holocaust centre so that will also help us understand about it.

Week 5 Term 1

This week I was chosen for the W.I.M.S Volleyball team. There is 8 of us in the squad and we will be having trainings soon. In softball we played room 16 and won 8-3, but the game the week before didn't count because instead of putting 12 vs 13 Mr Denise accidentally missed out the 1 on 13. We played well against room 16 it was really close at one point but then we got them out with no homeruns and we got 5 or 6 in that innings which won it for us. We had boating last week which is like a water safety course that we did in our school pool. It was pretty fun as you mostly just played around. On Friday it was swimming sport and my house Waipa won overall. I was invited to do CCBA basketball reps but I chose not to as I already have Waikato reps for football and I didn't really enjoy it last year. For writing I am doing and explanation about Stonehenge which I have just gathered all my research so no I have to quickly do the draft so I can edit it then change the mistakes. I am looking forward to week 6 and all of the opportunities that may come up.

Week 4 Term 1

This Week we lost too room 13 in the danish rounders finals although it was very close and we lost 0-1.  In sewing I am currently up to sewing on my hood onto my sweatshirt I learnt how to sew a hem on to the hood as well. In Waikato Football reps I learnt how to play centre Back because usually I play holding midfielder or attacking midfielder or sometimes even right back. We played softball on Tuesday and Thursday- we won both of out games the first we won against room 2 10-0 and against room 12 we won 9-0 . We have still not had a homerun scored against us and I have got the most homeruns getting 2 in each game. In maths I revised place value and factors. we also got given a writing task about one of the seven wonders of a world. I chose Stonehenge from the medieval world.

Week 3 Term 1

This week we made it into the Danish rounders final as we bet room 12 in the semis. In the finals next week we are versing room 13. It will be very hard as room 13 is probably the best in the school at it. In maths last week I revised powers. For tech arts the year eights are doing soft materials and we began cutting out our sweatshirts on Friday. We also had swimming heats on Wednesday, although I didn't do as well as last year it was still fun. Next week we start interclass softball and we have all been learning the new rules for this year.
